Writer Bio
Robert Heath Meeks is a licensed psychotherapist, crisis intervention expert, and hypnotherapist. Everybody say, "OOOoooo." He works everyday with young people just like the book's characters Charlie, Aldie, J.J., Abe, Bollie, and yes, even Monev, Clopus, and Clocher. His favorite part of counseling is helping kids discover their own worth and watching them discover that there is a little bit of angel in all of us.
Heath, along with his family --- three humans, three canines, three guardian angels --- live somewhere in the woods of Arkansas not to awful far from where Charlie and his friends first embark on their eerie explorations. In fact, Heath grew up right around the same area of Union Hill, Arkansas as Charlie Parker. He grew mold and paramecium under the bed for his Jr. High science projects, spent afternoons swimming at Lost End (Yuck!), and even trekked through spooky Wolf Den Hollow in the dead of night (with his dad right behind him, of course).
The author's son is the much more imaginative member of the team and a budding artist to boot. He may soon be giving Charlie Parker artist Phil Gormley a run for his money. Look out Phil! Parker loves helping dream up quirky new characters and goings on for his dad and Phil to scribble and draw into life. With Parker's help, the World of Charlie Parker and WASGAD's Academy for Youngsters will continue to grow ever larger.
The father-son team, along with awkwardly English-speaking Phil Gormley (we think he is a Wrungwhrul demon in disguise), is now hard at work on the second book in the Charlie Parker series.
